Ttukbaegi Earthenware Pot

$240.00

Tradition, reimagined.

Inspired by the classic Korean ttukbaegi, this handmade earthenware pot honors its origins through form and function. Each piece by The Lazy Potters balances timeless craftsmanship with a modern sensibility—made for daily cooking, shared meals, and the quiet rituals of home.

Similar in purpose to the Japanese donabe, the ttukbaegi is uniquely Korean—crafted for direct heat and known for retaining warmth long after leaving the stove. Perfect for soups, stews, and braised dishes, it embodies resilience, comfort, and the beauty of shared food and tradition.

We recommend gradually warming your pot to your desired temperature. Hand wash only.

Behind the Design

While the Japanese donabe has become widely recognized for clay pot cooking, the Korean ttukbaegi holds its own quiet legacy. Traditionally used for jjigae (stews) and guk (soups), it’s made to go straight from flame to table—keeping food bubbling hot through the last bite.

The Lazy Potters reinterprets this everyday vessel through a modern lens, shaping and glazing each piece by hand in Los Angeles. The result is a one-of-a-kind pot that honors Korean roots while embracing contemporary craft—bridging cultures through warmth, utility, and shared meals.

The Lazy Potters

The Lazy Potters are two Los Angeles-based friends and creatives who began taking pottery together in 2015. Francesca and Jennifer’s handmade ceramics are inspired by everyday objects and the natural world. Each pot is one-of-a-kind -with irregular shapes and subtle imperfections that reflect organic explorations of form and life. Soft yet resilient, these pieces are made to be lived with, enjoyed, and cherished every day.
